Rural West is largely a rural area which includes the localities of Addington, Ascot, Bald Hills, Blowhard, Bo Peep, Bunkers Hill, Burrumbeet, Cardigan (part), Cardigan Village, Coghills Creek, Ercildoune, Glendaruel, Glendonnell, Mount Bolton, Waubra, Weatherboard and Windermere. It is primarily bounded by the municipal boundary, but in the east and south the boundary runs along the Learmonth-Sulky Road, Gillies Street, Davenport Road, Draffins Road, Remembrance Drive and Les Draffins Road.
