Cardigan-Lucas-Bunkers Hill is a semi-rural area that is part of the Ballarat West Growth Area. Its northern boundary is formed by the Ballarat-Ararat Railway line, Draffins Road, part of Remembrance Drive to Chisholms Road, then a line to the Haddon-Windemere Road. In the west it is bounded primarily by Les Draffins Road; in the south by the municipal boundary and in the east by Finchs road, Greenhalghs Road and Dyson Drive.
