Key findings

In 2011, the dominant household type in East Gippsland Shire was Couples without dependents, which accounted for 35.4% of all households.

The largest increase between 2011 and 2026 is forecast to be in Lone person households, which will increase by 1,484 households and account for 31.1% of all households.

In contrast Group households is forecast to increase by 31 households, to comprise 2.1% of all households in 2026, compared to 2.3% in 2011.
