The Shire of Murray is located approximately 80 kilometres south of Perth, with a total land area of just over 1,700 square kilometres. It is bounded in the north by Rockingham City and the Serpentine - Jarrahdale Shire, in the east by Wandering and Boddington Shires, in the south by Waroona Shire, and in the west by the Harvey Estuary, the Peel Inlet, and Mandurah City.
