Rural South East is bounded by the Fitzroy River in the north, Raglan Creek and the Gladstone Regional Council area in the east, the Gladstone Regional Council area and Banana Shire in the south, and the localities of Fletcher Creek, Nine Mile Creek, Limestone, Struck Oil, Moongan, The Mine, Stanwell, Nine Mile and Gracemere, the Bruce Highway, the locality of Allenstown and Prospect Street in the west.
