South Hedland is a satellite suburb in the Town of Port Hedland, located approximately 10 km south of the earlier established Port Hedland. It is bounded by the Great Northern Highway, the Finucane Railway and the Port Hedland International Airport to the north, the Hedland Remainder area section near the Port Hedland-Newman Railway to the east, Yarrie Road and the Hedland Remainder area to the south and the Quartz Quarry Road part of Hedland Remainder to the west.
