Nabiac - Failford - Darawank - Rural North is bounded by the locality of Bucca Wauka, Bunyah Creek, the Wang Wauk River, the Pacific Highway and the localities of Possum Brush, Rainbow Flat, Hallidays Point and Black Head in the north, the Tasman Sea, the urban extent of the locality of Tuncurry, Wallis Lake, the Wallingat River and the locality of Bungwahl in the east, the localities of Topi Topi and Boolambayte and Kooloonock Road in the south, and the localities of Upper Myall, Warranulla and Wallanbah in the west. Nabiac is named from a word meaning "wild fig tree". It was originally known as Wollomba.
