Bulahdelah - Central Rural is bounded by the locality of Bunyah, Kooloonock Road, the locality of Wootton, Wattley Hill Road, The Lakes Way and the localities of Bungwahl and Seal Rocks in north, the Tasman Sea in the east, the locality of Hawks Nest, the Myall River and the locality of Nerong in the south, and the localities of Girvan, Booral, Stroud, Terreel and Waukivory in the west. Bulahdelah is named from an Aboriginal word thought to mean "the meeting of the waters". Bulahdelah was originally known as Myall River Settlement.
