The City of Maribyrnong population forecast for 2024 is 95,029, and is forecast to grow to 155,006 by 2051.
The City of Maribyrnong population and household forecasts present what is driving population change in the community and how the population and age structure will change each year between 2021 and 2051.
The forecasts are designed to provide community groups, Council, investors, business, students and the general public with knowledge to make confident decisions about the future.
Forecasts were adjusted in January 2021 based on potential COVID-19 impacts, and development trends since the last adjustment in 2018. A further update to these forecasts will be undertaken to include assumptions for some key strategic projects that are currently being considered by Council which may increase forecast population through to 2051.
