The Inner West Council area is located in the inner-western Sydney suburbs, about 4-10 kilometres west of the Sydney CBD. The Council area is bounded by the City of Sydney in the east, the Bayside Council area and Canterbury-Bankstown Council area in the south, the Burwood Council area and the City of Canada Bay in the west and Port Jackson and the Parramatta River in the north.
