Residential development forecasts assume the number of dwellings in Drouin (South) will increase by an average of 103 dwellings per annum to 4,365 in 2041.

The addition of dwellings to the housing stock is a major driver of population growth in an area, providing opportunities for households to relocate from other areas or new households to form locally (such as young people leaving the family home or separations/divorces).

Residential development can take various forms depending on the availability of land.   • Development driven by Canterbury Estate (101 dwellings), Pepper Crescent (84 dwellings) and Timbertop Crescent (90 dwellings) in the short to medium term. Medium to longer term development driven by 125 Shillinglaw Road (83 dwellings), Gardner and Holman Road UGZ (287 dwellings), Drouin PSP (1,003 dwellings) including Weebar, Dowan, Startup and Simper precincts
  • Low level of infill (6 dwellings per annum) assumed
