Mount Compass - Kuitpo & District lies in the north west corner of Alexandrina Council and is a growing rural-residential area that benefits from a location close to the southern suburbs of Adelaide. It is bounded by the City of Onkaparinga and the District Council of Mount Barker in the north, the locality of Ashbourne in the east, the localities of Tooperang, Mosquito Hill, Middleton and Port Elliot and the City of Victor Harbor in the south, and the District Council of Yankalilla in the south-west.
