The City of Moreland is located in the inner northern suburbs of Melbourne, with major centres at Coburg and Brunswick, 8 and 5 kilometres respectively from the GPO. It is bounded by the City of Hume to the north, the City of Darebin to the east, the Cities of Yarra and Melbourne to the south and the City of Moonee Valley to the west. The City of Moreland covers the suburbs of Brunswick, Brunswick East, Brunswick West, Pascoe Vale, Pascoe Vale South, Coburg, Coburg North, Hadfield, Fawkner, Glenroy, Oak Park and Gowanbrae. Small sections of the suburbs of Fitzroy North and Tullamarine are also located in the City.
