Rural West is bounded by the Clarence Valley Council area in the north and west, the Coral Sea, the Corindi River, the localities of Corindi Beach, Woolgoolga, Emerald Beach, Moonee Beach, Sapphire Beach, Korora, Coffs Harbour and North Boambee Valley in the east, and the localities of Boambee and Bonville and the Bellingen Shire in the south. Rural West includes the villages of Coramba, Lowanna, Nana Glen and Ulong and the localities of Brooklana, Bucca, Karangi, Upper Corindi and Upper Orara, and the Coffs Harbour City parts of Barcoongere, Dirty Creek, Halfway Creek and Sherwood.
