Rural East

About the forecast areas

The 2024 population forecast for Rural East is 3,529, and is forecast to grow to 4,446 by 2036.

Rural East is a semi-rural area located mainly to the north of the Western Freeway. It includes the localities of Chapel Flat, Glen Park, Gong Gong, Invermay, Warrenheip, Wattle Park and the rural elements of Nerrina and Brown Hill. It is bounded in the north and east by the municipal boundary; in the south by the Western Freeway and in the west by Ballarat-Maryborough railway line.
