5-11 years: The maps show the proportion and number of 5-11 year olds in each small area of Southern Grampians Shire for 2001 and 2016 and the forecast change. In 2001, the greatest concentration of primary-school aged children was in Rural North, Rural East and Hamilton (West).

By 2016, most small areas are expected to experience a decrease in the number of primary-school aged children, with Hamilton (West) losing the highest number in this age group. Hamilton (East) will see a slight increase, which relates to the development activity expected in the area.
