By 2016, all areas are expected to experience an increase in the early retiree and retiree age groups, consistent with the ageing of the population and in migration of these age groups. The largest increases are expected in the Hamilton (East) and Hamilton (North) area, followed by Rural East and Hamilton (West) areas. Rural North and Coleraine - Rural West are expected to gain the least in this age group.
