The map and table show the proportion of 75+ year olds in all small areas of Moyne Shire and the forecast change in the number between 2001 and 2016. In 2001, the most significant concentration of the population aged 75+ was in the small area of Port Fairy & District. The remaining small areas all share a similar concentration rate, although Rural East features the lowest share of people in this age group.
Increases are expected in all areas to 2016 as a result of ageing and to a lesser degree in-migration of these ages to aged care facilities. The most significant increases are expected in Port Fairy & District followed by Koroit & District and Mortlake & District.
